EVIN DRAKE
System Architect • Hardware Specialist • Problem Solver
ORIGIN_STORY
Born in Texas, now operating from upstate New York. My journey into tech started at age 8 with a broken OP0118-12 tablet—one with a shattered screen, the other with a dead motherboard. Instead of throwing them away, I merged them into one working device. That was my first repair, my first hack, and the moment I realized that breaking things apart was the best way to understand how they work.
When the manufacturer went under and their servers went dark, the tablets became bricks with their locked-down kid-friendly OS. So I taught myself Android, dug into the Linux kernel underneath, and flashed a custom ROM. That curiosity turned into a career—5+ years as a repair technician, where I've taken apart everything from smartphones to servers, fixing what others call "unrepairable."
CORE_DIRECTIVE
I'm a natural problem solver who learns by disassembling, analyzing, and rebuilding. Whether it's hardware, software, or systems architecture, I approach challenges with the same methodology: understand the components, trace the connections, identify the failure point, and implement a solution.
My work philosophy is simple: every system can be understood if you're willing to dig deep enough. I bring this mindset to everything I build—from homelab infrastructure to web applications—treating code like circuits and data like signals.

FUTURE_STATE
I'm building toward a future where I can dedicate more time to personal projects and creative aspirations while continuing to solve complex technical challenges. Programming for the web isn't just a skill for me—it's a way to share ideas, build tools, and create systems that others can use.
The most valuable skill I've developed isn't technical—it's the ability to step outside myself and see multiple perspectives on any situation. In tech, as in life, there's always more than one way to solve a problem. The key is choosing the right approach for the context.
